    Here is one taken earlier today. Settings were -

    40D, Canon 98-280mm @ 280mm
    1/1600 sec, f/8 Mode: Av, Metering: Evaluative, Exp comp: +2/3, ISO: 400 Hand held

    Almost fullframe, used ACR to open up the black and selective sharpening in PS. Your feedback would be appreciated.

    Interesting pose (and sharp image) but for a "looking down the barrel" shot I really wished I could see they eyes. As it is I have a hard time connecting with the bird. You might be able to get the red to pop a bit with a selective curve/level.

    Very interesting and unusual for this bird. You could saturate a bit to get
    the blue sky into cotrast to the reds. Agree with Jean-Luc it would be great if we could see
    better head angle.

    This is an unusual head angle for a stilt which is why i posted to see what you think. Thanks for the feedback.

    I like the head angle but wish for a better light angle for better light on the wings.
