And that's why they call it "The Golden Hour". Gorgeous colors and I like the touch of blue under this shoveler.

Nice light, colors, and reflection. I also like the angle toward the viewer in which she's swimming.

Fabs, I like your comp, with the placement of the shoveler. Sweet afternoon light, bringing out lovely colours throughout the image, and a great eye too. Well captured.

The higher angle provided a nice reflection, very nice! The water is beautiful! I'd maybe take a bit off the top.

Great light and details. I guess you were on a boardwalk and an even lower angle impossible.

Paul, in RAW, those settings don't mean anything, they are just only for jpgs.
What I do, though, that will affect my RAW is change the White Balance to cloudy, or to 9k for more punch.

    Thanks!

I'm already seating in the ground No boardwalk here. Any lower I'd loose the reflection.

    Thanks!

Great image, great color BG and bird, noise-wise excellent at ISO800
with the D300, I'm curious, did you apply much of noise reduction
    or not?

That is a good point. I sometimes wonder what the best angle is to get a good reflection while not being higher than necessary. What is your experience with this?

I used one pass of Noise Ninja. Some images pick up more noise than others. I fin warm light does the best, noise wise.

    Thanks for your comments.

    And look at that beak!
