    Hello all!

I hope you are not getting too tired of hummingbird pictures.

Taken in the highlands of CR. This is the male of the Talamanca Cordillera, there is one more race of Selasphorus flammula that inhabit the Irazu and Turrialba volcanoes, and one more race that can be seen at Poas and Barba volcanoes. Gorget color is the main difference. This is a tiny hummingbird of just 8cms. and 3g.

Hola, Juan Carlos. You've probably guessed that I never tire of hummingbirds! I think this image is quite nice. The light is just a bit harsh, but you handled the exposure well, and it looks like it is very sharp. He's looking ever so slightly away from you but that is not a big deal to me. I like the composition a lot with the diagonal of the branch and the space on the right side of the frame.

    Saludos,
    Greg

    Juan:
I am with Greg, never get tired of hummers. In Michigan, we only get one species, so I envy your assortment.

The sharpness is great. I particularly like the detail in the tail feathers. Agree about the head angle, but very close.

thanks for sharing this beauty, and keep them coming!

Oh yeah this is nice! I love the overall details, the blue eye-ring, the translucence of the primaries. Excellent BG too. I may be tempted to tone down the perch a bit. How can one get tired of hummers with images like this :-) What is that lens you used, Canon 35-350mm??

I also like hummers a lot. They are just beginning to return here in New York. This image is very nice. The sharpness is wonderful and the BG is a killer. If I were to nit at all I would suggest darkening the perch a bit.

I like the eye-level shot and uncluttered background in this beauty.

I really like the colors of this one, BG and subject are very complimentary. Sharp and detailed as well, I especially like the two feathers at the base of the tail. Well done.
