After a few shots of only one of them pulling their beak out of their feathers, these two finally did the simultaneous thing without lowering a leg.
I am not sure about the crop and composition. Had them more evenly spread in the frame before but this seems to work better. What do you think?

They are spread out nicely, but I would look at the possibility of cropping a good part of the top as a pano comp (enough to hide the "brownish" stuff above). I love the synchronized poses, good job in waiting for the right moment. The light angle wasn't at its best, but at least the faces are illuminated. I would also patch out the black spots in the water, and run some NR on the BG.

I also think this lends itself well to a pano crop. Nice timing on the poses and the crop/comp looks good. A little NR would be nice.

Hi Thomas, I agree with the suggestions below. But I must point out how COOL this image is showing the differences in the curve in the bill between the male (left, straighter) and the female (right, strongly upturned) COOL!!!

Thanks to all three of you. It's this kind of comments that gets me thinking outside of my box. I have stuck pretty much to the camera aspect ratio until now and am going thru old pics to improve them based on this. Thanks again!
Dan, I hadn't even noticed that difference. Thanks for the heads up. I figured this was male and female, but couldn't see a difference.
