Taken last weekend at the Alligator Farm. It is always such a treat to watch these Great White Egrets as they return to the nest. Would have liked a little more light on the head area but posted this because of the beautiful flight pose.

I agree the pose is nice. You pretty much assesed the facial area... You guys did well at that location.

    Judy,

I really like the color control and use of shadows. I have no answer how to fill flash the head. My flash with BB will not reach or is so weak by the time it reaches a BIF at AF.

    Thanks for sharing....

The pose is really stunning Judy! I loved it, the detail, exposure and DOF are great as well, com looks nice too, only light angle was less than ideal IMO, but other than that, the rest looks good! Congratulations!

Excellent "ballet" image Judy. Great detail and timing to get the perfect wing position. Shame the slight shadow is on the face, but I don't believe it detracts terribly from the image.

The pose and open bill are great. Too bad about the light angle and I would run NR on the BG.

Hi Judy, this is a tremendous and ballet like pose, nice work on the whites. If the face was lighter as you mentioned......:)

    Grace and beauty! Wonderful capture.

One easy way to open the face shadows in Photoshop: Open a blank layer, change blend mode to soft light, paint with white. Use a small, soft brush, about 10% brush opacity. Then mask out any overspray around the edges.

Super posture, with the extended wings, and this is nice and sharp, showing good detail in the wings. Well timed to capture the open beak.
