This was a tough call, as all the entries were good! I judged the images based on the emotional impact (my top priority in an image), artistic merit, and originality. Here are my top three picks:
1 - Jackie Schuknecht - "Starry Sky" I love the look of the rock faces, the mass of stars, and the lens flares. My kind of image! Well done Jackie.
2 - Dave Mills - "Moonlight at Death Valley" While only one star in the sky, I like the minimalist approach and the foreground mud-to-sand-to-hills composition is excellent! Nice use of the filter to create a midnight look.
3 - David Thomasson - "Starry Night" Beautiful day-to-night work with a very nice starry sky in the background. Thank you David. You are the best at this!
