Been working with these guys lately, here is the best so far. Reds looked good on the camera, but were way oversaturated in LR 2. Last night I read over the REDucation 1 and 2 (very helpful info!) in the Educational resources section and came up with this. Seemed OK last night but today the crown may need a little more work, would like to hear what everyone thinks

Great find, angle, head angle and BG. I might increase contrast a few points. The reds look good, there is a bit of clipping according to the histogram but this is most likely due to sRGB jpg conversion.

As presented the image is much too light. I was sure that you would have to go back to the RAW file to save this one but I was wrong. For the repost I added 100 points of CYAN to the REDs in Selective Color, reduced the RED SAT 5 points, and darkened the whole image. The first two steps yielded a histogram that showed no clipping.

BTW, I love the image. Sharp and a hard to approach species. Nice BKGR and I even like his choice of a landing spot. I would strongly recommend Digital Basics.

Thanks for the specific workflow, the repost looks really good on my monitor and so does the histogram. I just duplicated the steps and took the midtone slider to 0.9 instead of changing the brightness. The result is pretty similar.

Super image. Love the comp and BG. Contrast boost definately does work well.

    Thanks for sharing this beauty!

Arthur's repost is right on. It looks like you can go back and redo this wonderful image.

I got the Digital Basics and I will tell you, is a must have! actually the name, DB does not make justice since there are some topics that are not so ''basic'' and thus can lead you to a better treatment of your digital images.

Super comp, and love the colours on him. He stands out nicely against the BG.
