    Nice visitor Glenn !!!

Sharp, well exposed, good perch and bg !!! Can try capturing in softer light, tough with that color bird, whites by the wings are just over and the perch is a little hot !!! Less exp would have blocked the shadows.

Tech wise would increase the ISO to at least 400 and might even shot wide open !!! btw you can use converters with that lens and obtain excellent results !!! A 1.4X with with camera crop factor gives you 570mm !!!!

Would crop from top and bottom !!! Congrats on your new lens Its a good one !!

Glenn, Good advice given by Alfred, can only add to it that I think you did good considering the harsh light. Congrats on the new lens looking forward to more.

    Glenn,

Never thought about ebay for used equipment, do they have a forum for photography. I must confess, I am not that familiar with this site, good thinking.

Thanks for the comments guys ,ill have to try again under softer lighting conditions.

Jeff theres quite a assortment of lenses for sale on Ebay .If theres one piece of advice i can give you is always check the customer satisfaction % of the seller and i would steer away from first time sellers.

all the techs were nicely covered above. one thing to consider is to crop out the bud on the right side of the frame. better to have clean frame edges all the way around. beautiful bird!!

Jeff - ebay has some good deals - but it is Buyer beware - there are many many CONS - you really have to take a lot of care.
