    Default Millpond Prehistoric

Went out on the hunt for gators and prothanotory warblers today. Found this boy swiming back up inside of the swamp and decided to follow him for a while. After about 10 mins he finally dragged himself up out of the water and onto a log.

    Comments and critiques are arpiciated.

    Jared,
Your persistence has paid off. The texture has come off well. It seems you had some bright light to deal with. Black and white is the right choice in this case. Is this full frame? I would like some more space at the front and a bit at the top. I could not find the EXIF details in the image. Look forward to more.

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi

I am fine with the framing and love the B&W presentation. I even like the o-o-f stuff in the corners--makes the image look surreal. And love the texture on the gator and the log.

Good choice for the b/w treatment on this one. I too would like a little more room in front.

Thanks for the critiques folks. Never really understood why people are so interested in the shooting data unless the use of unique techniques were involved but for those that wanted to know:

    1/250
    f/7.1
    +.33 EV
    ISO 400

d300; 200-400vr; shot from tripod set up inside my my canoe.

Perfect looks as is. B&W makes this one really pop and "look" prehistoric! I'd say well done. I love the hanging leg
