Another application for the zoom blur is doing a tight person zoom blur. Picking a bg makes a difference and I like having one colorful and even. If you have gaps in color will look odd once you zoom.

zooming speed is also important for getting some detail in the center, this was hand held but best to mount on tripod. There was overcast and I was just doing one so the neutral density filter didn't come out. Remember to set the metering to Tv or manual !!

    Comments welcome and much appreciated

Alfred, I think this came out really nice. I like that Fabs is recognizable with just enough detail-yet the overall image is a blur- BG colors rock!

Denise the key is the zooming For a recognizable subject I try hard in stopping for a millisecond before zooming back thats why longer exposures make it easier. Lots of possibilities !!!

This is very good Mr. Forns...I like the even color blend and smooth transition pattern...you need to show me how to do this...

Excellent details Al. I see what you mean by the bg being even, it sure makes the subject stand out.
One thing I can't figure out is how Denise knew this was Fabs? For all I know it could have been you and Fabs taking the image??????????????????????????:D

Alfred - this looks like a 3-D picture - I love it. I'm having trouble getting a good focus on a center object - I'll
try longer shutter speed and hesitation before zooming - is that right?

    Thanks,

    Cheryl:)

This is neat Al, perfect BG for zooming, gives it lots of colour:) I think that is the technique Al is referring to Cheryl, think Al said to zoom just before the shutter closes. Guess it would take a bit of practice:)

Just been suggested to me I look at this. I love it. Such a cool look Al. I am inspired to zoom, zoom myself now. :)
