    Chestnut backed taken in back yard.
    D300, 400 2.8 w/1.4TC, 1/250, f4, iso400, man exp.

    I like the pose, soft light, head angle and eye contact. The BG is a bit busy but not too distracting. Thanks for sharing, I haven't seen many images of this species.

    Cute bird with nice pose and interesting perch. Good sharpness on the eye and bill. Nice detail in the whites. More DOF would have been nice on the bird but would have increased the busyness of the BG and light levels were low. Maybe fill flash on manual at a smaller aperture would have gained DOF while underexpsoing the BG a little to make it less obvious.

    Good looking little fellow - might be worth considering a feeder setup, so that you can control the BG somewhat.

    Cute bird, sharp, with a good EXP. Great suggestion by Lance as the BKGR is simply too cluttered for my taste. Thank you sir for your membersihp support.
