This is in my opinion the most attractive of the giraffe subspecies we saw. The Reticulated giraffe, here in Samburu National Reserve, has the most well defined markings, the males slightly darker and they get darker as they age. I tried to balance him with the peak on the left.

I Have never seen one of these in the wild. You have captured the skin tone and pattern very well. A crop on the left and an addition on the right would improve this , I always like to see a little bit of where they are going.
Do you have any close ups for us to see.

    Paul,
The giraffe looks lovely. I would have tried for a narrow aperture. Some more space at the top would have been nice as well. Look forward to more.

Stunning light and colours in this. I would move him back to the left, but I realise you wanted to keep the mountain in the BG.

Ken, no close-ups. I have the traditional, give it front space shot, I just liked this with the peak better.

I got bored with following the rules. 10 days of shooting, I wanted to try to make images that weren't static and always what is safe. Not saying anything is ground breaking, I just tire of what is expected.

Here is a crop from the left, I think it may grow on me.

Really nice Paul. Great light, nice colors and sharpness, and I love the way the bushes seem to wrap around him and the opening in the grass. The mountain in the BG makes this one for me and although I like your original, I think the repost with some off the left is the way to go. IMO, one of the best giraffe shots I've seen.

Nice speration from the bg achieved here Paul. Sharpness is also spot on and I'm for the comp on the repost. The giraffe doesn't give the appearance that it is walking toward the camera and for that reason I feel a bit of ccw rotation might be in order here.

Excellent image of a wonderful species Paul. I like the original composition more than the repost primarily because it gives more a location sense. Including environments is so important in wildlife images IMO.
