I really wanted to get a good shot of these guys and it took several attempts. They don't seem disturbed, but just love to turn their backs on you. With an awkward shape, I decided to crop some things (in camera) to get more detail where it counts. Terrific detail and lovely BG. You are certainly showing us wonderful stuff from your trip. I like that you didn't crop the legs by the joints. You only do that to chickens in the kitchen :)
Agree with the in camera crop to concentrate on the best part of the bird !!! Excellent all around Hoping to see one in person and in its natural habitat !!
I might be tempted to do a vertical crop as the rump of the bird does not add a lot to the image. This would concentrate the image to what we are really looking at the head and eye.
Love the crop, the resulting image design, the sharpness, and best of all, the perfect HA.
