Great angle, details and setting. I only find the OOF blades of grass in the foreground and the leaf behind the legs a bit distracting.

Lovely shot but the background is much too busy for me. I would tighter crop or go to a vertical to give more attention to the chick

Hey son, beautiful light and sharp chick. Habitat is pretty good considering. I'd be happy for it to be mine, then I'd clone out the weed growing out of his derriere :)

I find the habitat perfect for this Harold. But I get bored of bird on a stick shots. (I still take them) Take care of the rump stem and throw it in the portfolio.

Harold, huge improvement in pp over last pair....beautifully detailed wee chick

agree with all above....if this is almost full frame, I would definitely do some
cleanup work.....it could be a project, do a little at a time

Hi Harold, Great looking chick. I like the habitat. It provides a since of place and scale for the chick. The only thing I would change is removing the stick that Fabs mention. Well Done!

I like the potential of this image very much. Nicely set within the habitat, he is cute as a button and I also tire of BOAS. The horizontal vine below his feet helps to frame him also.

As presented it looked kinda drab so to speak at least on this end so I took the liberty of tweaking it a tad. Recropped, levels adjustment, added a few points to the blacks and neutrals in selective color and made a half hearted effort to remove the stick Fabs pointed out. For better or worse.

I like the overall soft feel to this and the surrounding vegetation. I'd only remove/shorten the red stem coming out of his backside.

Lovely low angle, and I actually like his surroundings. Soft light, and agree with the removal of the stem behind him. Well captured Harold.

This is excellent Harold as are the comments and repost above. I especially like your choice of perspective with the two taller stems framing the bird.

    East coast or west?

Thanks Harold. Does anyone know if they breed anywhere on the east coast of FLA?

i do not know. i will say that i know the guy that kinda specializes in this species and i have never heard him make mention of them being on the east coast. how far north do i have to go just to find some shorebirds on the east coast? doesnt seem to be a lot in palm beach and martin county. just gulls and pelicans, and even they can be scarce at times.

Thanks Harold. That would be gulls, pelicans and condos on the east coast...
