From Little Estero Lagoon at sunrise. For these type you don't need to pan with the birds, best to let them move on their own so you need to make lots for capturing the desired effect. Shutter speed will depend on the same three factors ... distance, angle of movement and speed.
If you catch them at the waters edge do take advantage of the sloping sand for strengthening the composition. btw note that even at this early time is best to use a ND filter to avoid stopping down as much as I had to for this one. Fort this I should have lowered the ISO down to 50 !!!
Did have one but was lazy to put it one !!! For the long lenses you use drop in filters, get an extra filter holder for easy swapping.
I like the transparency of the subjects on the left. The angle of the sand and water's edge provide a simple but pleasing foundation. Regarding the filter, what does ND mean. I assume the filter would reduce light and take the pressure off your exposure settings to slow things down?
Alfred, This is a lovely blur. I love the transparency of some and the silhouette feel to others-the sunrise colors are beautiful!
