Very nice flash work illuminating the underwings. Perfect T shape and nesting material a plus.

You balanced the light very well with flash Al. Looks almost natural.

Love those peach wing linings. Brings back many fond memories for me. That branch has a lotta leaves!

    Hi Al!
Were you lying flat on you back...?!
    Love the under-wing detail.

I like it a lot Al. The delicate touch of pink in the underwings and the green of the leaves in the bill adds a note of color to this overall black and white image. Very nice job

Great flashwork to expose the underwings, and love the full spread.

    Hi Nicki

At the Alligator Farm they fly right over your head. There is a large tree which they nest and just go back and forth with branches !!! All you need to do is stand there and make images !!! At times the 70-200 is fine without converter !!

Hi Alfred, I love the pose and the composition. The underside details are splendid. I can't decide if I like the nesting material in the image, I know it adds interest but at the same time it somewhat breaks up the symmetry of the subject a little.

Never have seen a wood stork like this. It's very interesting angle and makes one wonder how much of his visual field is blocked by the branch. Yesterday the wood storks were working on the cedar tree near the light pole. Not sure what tree this limb is from. Is that his eye on the right side of the bird or tree material? The other side is in shade.

If its his eye it adds dramatic impact to this image. Oh my G..!

    Thanks for sharing Al....
