Taken last march, this image is one from one of my most successful trips of the winter. A flock of gulls was flying, screaming and sleeping on the ice sheets bordering the magog river. There was plenty of action and also plenty of opportuninities for still portraits. I really like the red lining of his mouth. I cloned out a couple of birds in the FG and added some canvas.
You did a super job of catching the gull in flight. The bird's colors and sharpness are great. I agree with the above comments. The aqua colored ice is very distracting. My eye ends up on the ice instead of the bird.
Heck, I like everything about this except for the white strip and I do not hate that. The face and the inside of the mouth could go a bit lighter. Love the image design. My biggest wish would be to lose the little chunk of ice (with a QM).
