    ok go easy this is my first post here :) j/k let me have it ;)


    this was my first outing with a 1D MKII that I just got
    1D MKII, Sigma 500mm F4.5 + 1.4xTC
    F 5.6, ISO 400, 1/250

    Welcome to BPN, Jamie! Nice first post, good-looking specimen and nice perch. More eye contact would have been good and you could tone down the highlights on the chest. Keep them coming!

    Welcome to BPN! You will learn a ton from the talented photographers here.

    Wonderful perch and BG. As Axel mentioned the head turn is not very good. I think the whites are too blown to recover here. This image has sidelighting, which is not adding to the image. Next time try to have the sun at your back.

    I actually did not know of the site until I saw a link from Arthur Morris's bulletin today :)

    Welcome Jaime! I agree the group here is dialed in!
    I would try and tone down the blown whites in the chest, wait (if possible) next time for the bird to give a headturn in your general direction and clone out the OOF (out of focus) twig on the bottom left as it pulls the eyes away from the image. Keep them coming!

    Hi Jamie, Welcome. Glad that I helped you find us. Big lesson here: wait for the bird to turn its head to a pleasing anle before pressing the shutter button. And remember to check that histogram in the field....
