    Default Greater Scaup (hen)

Ahh yes, the ladies keep marching out. Here is a Greater Scaup taken recently in Minnesota.

I like the different textures in this scaup and the way the water fades into the background

    Mike:

Nice head position, composition and exposure.

To my eye, the head/neck isn't quite critically sharp. Perhaps a little more selective sharpening could be applied.

You have got me thinking about my friends living on the lakes around here. Maybe I can go sit in the reeds on their shoreline. :):)

    Thanks for sharing.

Mike, I like the pose, light, detail and colours in this. Excellent detail on the feathers, and once again, a lovely low angle from you.

Wonderful pose, low angle, and head angle. Body feathers do look a bit sharper than the head. Great light and EXP. Amazing the metering differences with Canon and Nikon.

    Hi Mike,
Love the low angle and the soft light and colours.

Great angle, water colors and patterns. Another vote for selective sharpening of the head.

Wonderful colors and great angle, agree with the others on sharpening the head and neck.

Another nice one, although I prefer the golden water :)
This one is tight at the tail end, wish you had more space there.
    I'm really enjoying your series.
