    Default Avocet mum and chick

Found surprisingly difficult to take a decent "parent-chick" interaction picture. This is so far my best attempt...

    Comments welcome as always,

You have framed the chick nicely here. I like the low angle, and the parent stands out very well against the BG.

    Dear Jean,
What a wonderful image!! Excellent interaction very "touching" Great exposure right on....
A couple of suggestions: (In my opinion only) See my repost -It looks like you need to crop in from the top and right side a little; and I darkened the BG a little (A quickie; you may see some edge detail not correct). And I removed the "light line" on the mother birds neck. Hope you like the treatment!
    Best,
    Michael

I like the mood and interaction, the tighter crop improves it and I might blur the BG a bit more.

    Hi Jean-Luc,
Wonderful moment captured! For me, I would take a little off the top but leave as is on the right - the repost is too tight for me.

Beautiful picture, nice intereaction capture here. Agree with bluring the background a little. In the perfect world a catchlight on the mum, but that is a minor wish.

The repost is alright, but I prefer Jean-Luc's original comp. avery tender moment caught on "film". I too would have liked a catchlight on the parent. I don't mind the small branches sticking out of the water at left but I kinda wish the thicker one directly below the neck wasn't there. Well done JLuc!

Cute, sharp, and good EXP. I like the ORIG COMP best. In addition, the HORZ line of the shore hurts a bit.... Love that it looks as if momma is gonna preen the chick. Great to see you here.
