You're getting great lighting and glow in these poppy macros. I agree with the interest in the FG petals - along with the hints of petals in the BG, they really help define the comp and subject in this monochrome abstract. Nice job!

You can tell you love these flowers...it really shows in the images, Aidan. I think the lighting and the colors are fantastic - nice and soft but still great focus on the stamen. I do find myself wanting it to be a horizontal instead of a vertical comp, though (although I do like the comp you chose) but my eyes keep wanting to sweep across the image more.
