Well I'm at the end of a 3 week trip and this morning I was walking the beach on St. George Island near Appalachicola, Florida when this bird soared by. Good thing I had my 5D MkII. ISO 200, f/4.0, 1/2500 sec, EF24-105mm, 100mm, Evaluative Metering, Auto Exposure, Auto WB, No Flash. This is basically right out of camera with a little curves and sharpening. Not sure how to crop, if any. Comments Welcome.

I like this image, the BG is fantastic and gives the perspective of habitat. Well balanced, simple and a nice "moment in life shot" - tells a story.

Very nice Richard! A different pose that works really well, the BG is an added bonus!

Beautiful shot, Richard. If you wanted the darker feel, then your original post is fine as it is. I adjusted levels just to see what would happen.
