Made this image while waiting for a meadowlark to visit its perch. Lark never showed.

Hi Roger, the Robin really seems to get overlooked.
I think your exposure, BG and sharpness are good. I might explore a horizontal comp and clone out some of the bird droppings off the perch.

Also Hi Roger, as usual I agree with mike. a horz crop and remove 90% of the perch It
doesn't add. You might also lighten up the wing just a tad.

Thanks for the comments. I meant to clean up the bird poop before posting but got ahead of myself. Regarding the crop, I know that square crops are sudden death on this site. However, the image was made in a large open field and in my mind's eye, the image needed to reflect the expansiveness of the environment in which it was made. On the other hand, viewers did not know that history. So, following your suggestions, I made some adjustments. I like the repost and welcome comments.

I like the re-post better as well, nice job. It looks like we've turned this thread into an all Minnesota event.

Your repost is so much better Roger. Exposure, colour, detail, all good, and against a great OOF BG too.

Thanks, Stuart. I found the comments to be very helpful - another BPN learning experience.
