This was taken on my recent first trip to Bosque. I think I got lucky b/c it was before I really got the hang of photographing birds in flight.

    Canon 40D, 400 DO
    F8, 1/1000sec, ISO 200, manual exposure
    Gritzo tripod

C & C always welcomed and much appreciated.

nice position and excellent exposure...I think I see a definite magenta color cast, but it may totally be
    a ground reflectance

    Hi Marina,
Nice wing position and very nice BG. I think the tall grass on the bottom adds to the picture.
    Congratulations.

    Hi Dave:

Thanks for noticing the cast. I would probably not have noticed it without your repost. Did you remove the cast from just the goose or the entire image?

    Thanks again.

actually I did the whole image....it would probably be better to do just the goose.
It is a nice "warm feeling" habitat

The cast is definitely present but easily corrected as Dave has shown. There is a dust spot to the right of the goose's head.

I like the position in the frame. The rolling hill creates / adds to the sense of him coming in to land. Nicely exposed and the lack of a distinct shadow on the bird accentuates the breadth of his breast. The grass is a big plus as it anchors the image.

Really nice landing pose Marina. Darn good for MF too, :)

Thanks for noticing the dust bunny, Mike. Actually, I found two of them. I have to remember to scan every picture for those devils, and I continually escapes me.

Color cast mentioned. You did an excellent job with manual focus! :D

I like the landing posture, and how the neck follows the line of the hill in the BG. The goose is nice and sharp, and well exposed too.

I like the landing pose, details and setting and Dave's repost improves it.
