When I was extracting my exif for this image, I see it is actually over two years old and shot with my trusty Canon 20D. My own crit is that he is flying away from me, but managed to capture detail on the white wings.

Like the detail on the wings Stu. Agree on the head angle. Well done.

Wing position and blurred BG look good. I agree on the head angle

    Stuart:

Nice wing position, shows details of both wings. I like the feet :) Might give the feet just a bit more room to the right, just a touch.

Was this much of a crop? The overall detail seems down a bit. I don't know the 20D well, so perhaps this is as good as it gets for that camera.

I always find it very educational to look back at my older images. Nice to see that we are indeed getting better!

    Cheers

    Randy

Stuart, nice composition and great job on the exposure. Other points have mentioned, but it looks like a good image overall.

Nice detail and wing position. A lokk back would have saved the going away look. Great whites and sweet BG.

Nice dark background to compliment the egret. The exposure looks good with nice detail. Other observations have been covered above. Thanks for sharing.

As you say good wing feather detail but wrong flight angle.
Nothing wrong with the 20D, a lot of great images have been captured with it.

Nice job on the whites and as mentioned the wing position is good. I might clone/clean up the wing tips on P4, P5, P6.
