Default Cattleya Hybrid Orchid.... In Natural Light

Here's another orchid in my collection. It's a BLC hybrid with some pupurata in the ( lobellium ) lips. Again for this photo, I used MLU and my timer since the SS was rather long. My aperture was about f/ 13.0 as I recall. Taken with a 5D, Sigma 180 mm macro f/ 3.5 lens and a tripod.

    Enjoy

Charlie, I like the image very much. Nice lighting while retaining detail in the whites. Not easy making an effective comp with these types of flowers. I was wondering about the additional space on the left but in this case I feel it works well. Good job...

Love the comp. on this. The whites were handled very well. One sweet image.

Colors, white, and highlights on the leaves are wonderful. Great work here - a real winner!

I totally agree with all the others. You seem to have a real ifinity for photographing these lovely flowers. To me, orchids are beautiful and regal plants and you bring both to the photographs you create. Love the side lighting and the way the stem gradually falls out of the image.
