    Default High ISO 50D

From this past weekend at the Alligator Farm Alternated with the Mk3 and 50D all weekend For this one I had to crank the ISO (1600) in order to give myself a chance at making a sharp image and was happy with the noise results. Nothing special just properly exposed and used Topaz for reducing noise.

    Comments welcome and much appreciated

Ugly but cute! Doesn't look bad for ISO 1600.

Very nice Al. I discovered BPN while reading the mass hysteria over at a certain other forum over the 50D and noise issues. I was all set to buy the 5DII (even though all my glass would get smaller) when someone posted something to the effect of "while you guys are busy bashing the 50D there are people over at BPN taking perfectly wondeful pictures with it", so I bought it. Of course the first thing I did was shoot some ISO 1600 shots to see what all the hysteria was about and was pleased to find that the noise, while certainly not dismissable, is definitely manageable. It can be argued that you shouldn't have to manage noise, but given the price point versus features of this camera I find it hard to beat and a very affordable upgrade from my 400D. :)

Nicely done Alfred. I like how you kept the f/11. Three sharp eyes and smiles to boot. Dave

Nicely done Alfred. Noise? I can't see any. Nice head angles and sharpness. I like the soft colors and the golden BG.

Nicely framed below the parent, and great exposure for 1600. Well done.

Hi Al I see that you are on the Canon side again :-)
It is a very good result for a 1600ISO image (considering the web size presentation). I like the youngs facing in the same direction, very cute, and the legs of the adult at the right but the gree, dark, stuff in the foreground is very distracting. I see that Fabs and you are enjoying a lot your time in Alligator Farm :-)

Hi Alfred, I like the composition and the details very much. Excellent head positions on all three young ones and just enough of the parent's body to show the scene well. I wish the bg was all yellowish instead of the large bright area on the left. Not much noise at 1600 ISO.

Nice image of that stork family Alfred. I'm surprised to see you shooting Canon. Also it's interesting how you always manage to capture a different look that the usual blue sky or leafy green BG. It was great sharing the Alligator Farm with you and Fabs this past weekend.

Great job getting this image without noise!

    Lovely chicks.

The whites on BG makes my eyes going there.
