Default Another "drab but fab" Warbling Vireo.

Same individual I posted a couple of days ago. These guys might be non-descript, but man are they ever pretty - and such a beautiful song too. They sing non-stop! Audio recording used to lure it down to eye level. I did not plan on it landing on this perch (see previous post for the one I was eyeing), but I did love the BG this image offered :-) A branch running vertically top to bottom halfway between bill and edge was eliminated using a combination of patch and clone tools. With the eye and face sharp I am fine with the DOF not covering the wingtips and tail.

    Canon 40D + 100-400L @400mm, 1/1000s., f/7.1, ISO 400, +0.3 EC, natural light, handheld, ~80% full-frame.

    Daniel:

Perfect look back pose, open bill, exposure, lovely background. Perch, is perfectly scaled for him, and a nice color too. Nice composition too.

Lets see, there are a couple of stray feathers on the back of the head. Had to find something to comment on!

    Thanks for sharing.

    Very nice capture Dan
Agreed, what they lack in colour, they make up for with their song. The BG is beautiful, and a very nice over the shoulder pose. A nice little bonus is capturing a bit of blue on the legs.

Very nice photo Daniel. I like how you were able to get so nice and close to the bird and at eye level. Well done. Dave

Lovely pose, with a great head turn. I would love to see and experience your audio set up that you explaned so well in your previous post. Killer BG Daniel, and well captured.

Very good self critic Daniel and I see why you like this image. The light is very, very nice and the combination of head turn, eye contact, catchlight, and open bill is very good. I do not mind about the OOF tail, in fact, I didn´t noticed but for your words. The head is so attractive that is difficult to pay attention to other part of the image. Very good job

Like how the tail leads you towards the bird. Super exposure, BG and light.

I agree with you, this is a lovely looking bird

    Love everything about this image.

I can see some magenta cast, that would be my only nit.
