I have often said that what I don't know about Photoshop would fill the oceans. So I finally took Julie's advice and signed up for Scott Kelby's online training. Now I just registered on Saturday and I am just slowly working through the "CS4 for Beginners" tutorial in order to begin getting a handle on what all I don't know. So don't expect much right now.
Tonight I went through the section on filters and thought I would play around a bit. So I began with a GBH image and under filters added Film Grain, Smudge Stick and the Texturizer. And I kinda liked what I came up with.
Ed, Nice job on this and I'm glad you took the plunge! It really is about experimenting and getting inspired. When you see a digital creation that you like try to figure out what filters were used and try to recreate it-You'll be surprised at the outcome. My only recommendation is to define the eye a bit. Keep in mind you can QM the eye before you add filters, maybe wouldn't fit for this one but keep it in mind for other images.Nice color palette and I like the texture applied.
