What a beauty of a bird. He made a quick appearance as I was setting up for the evening. I figure that some might find the ocotillo blooming in the background to be too dominant, but I think I like this super colorful combination. Thanks for any comments!

I think it's a pretty great shot myself.
The composition, pose, BG and perch are all very desirable.

Colours are great, Judd - pose and sharpness of the bird perfect, DOF covers it well while still rendereing the BG lovely and soft. I like the contrasting texture the perch brings to the image.

Interesting perch with all those cool thorns! I'm feeling like the flower is competing for attention with the subject though. Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful flower but I wish it wasn't so close to the bird (or so big). Good exposure, great colours, and a lovely "relaxed" pose. BG is not too shabby either :-)

Sweet pose and colors, and sharp. Ii would actually like to see this wider so as to include the whole flower. Way cool on the thorns.

Super effort here - lovely colours and BG. Light a tad hard, but no major contrasting shadows.
Love the flower it is perched on.

Superb! Great pose, perch, BG, light, detail, colors and comp, just for the fun of it, I'd try bluring the flower a very little bit :)
    Congratulations!
