Default The flight of the Great Blue Heron

    Hello all,

Here is a picture I took from a cruse at the "Iles de Sorel" in Quebec last August. This Great Blue Heron just flew in front of us at my great pleasure...

    Any comments on this picture?

    Cheers!

    Michel

Although the Great Blue Heron eats primarily fish, it is adaptable and willing to eat other animals as well. Several studies have found that voles (mice) were a very important part of the diet, making up nearly half of what was fed to nestlings in Idaho. Occasionally a heron will choke to death trying to eat a fish that is too large to swallow.

I like the wing position, detail, and stands out nicely against the darker BG. I would maybe take a bit off the top, and add a little to the right.

Love it as presented Real nice feather detail and all so sharp !! The suggested crop would give a better ratio which should accentuate forward motion !! Excellent image !!!
