    Default Wigeon (hen)

So my week of displaying different species of "Hens" continues. This is a Wigeon on one of my favorite local watering holes.

Love the hues in the background. A very peaceful image.

If I were to offer any suggestions... maybe a tad more sharpening on the bird and either cloning out the horizontal light gray strip above the bird or blending it more with the surrounding oranges.

Stunning light and colours Mike. I like the detail, and although angled away from you a bit, the head turn towards you works well. I like this lots. Congrats.

Another nice one Mike. It could go a little brighter but works as presented. The water looks great and I like the bird's positon better than last time. I'd probably add a bit of canvas up top.

Very ethereal and warm mood in this image. The low angle is terrific and the BG colors are outstanding. The bird is too much centered to my taste and with such a nice Bg I would go for a composition with more space around the bird, mostly on the left and top of the frame. Very good job Mike

Very nice photo Mike. I really like the idea of a series, especially presented like this. I am not sure why, but I keep trying to crop from the bottom to just above the green. Well done. Dave

Nice warm glow and softness to this. I like Dave's suggested crop and a bit more sharpening on the bird. Nice image as presented though.

    this is soooooo beautiful.
might smooth the bg upper right for consistency, but that's just a preference for me.

Mike, this is stunning sir, one of your best

Thanks, Dave! I appreciate that! It is far and away my favorite of the hen images I was able to get this spring. I expected more comments, but sometimes its hard to just say "good shot or whatever" as we are asked to speak on how to improve an image. I'm okay with that.:)
