I've been struggling recently following post micro fracture knee surgery. Here's a photo from my files. This snag is no longer available at Alligator Farm. Wish they would do something about it. I used my Canon EOS- 1D, EF 100- 400 mm f/4.5- 5.6 L at the 400 zoom setting, 1.4 TC, BB with 550 EX flash and tripod. My exposure was 1/ 250 sec. @ f/ 8.0 at 320 ISO.

Unfortunately, I had to cut off part of the tree branch.

    Enjoy

The bird looks great against that lush OOF green BG. I like the eye contact. I would consider pushing the exposure slightly to the right, and also sharpening just a little more. Also, the bird could be moved slightly to the right in the image.

Head angle and BG look great. It could go a bit brighter and I would choose a wider crop.

    Hi Charles,
The crop works fine for me but I would also consider pushing the exposure a little to the right.
    Best,

I love the background as it compliments the birds nicely. I too would go wider on the crop and agree with Nicki that brightening/lightening up the whites might help as they appear a little gray on my screen.

Hi Charles, big welcome to BPN, you live in a privileged location :)

I like the crop as presented, if anything, maybe some off the top. Exposure could be a third lighter but not much more. It does not look gray on my calibrated monitor.
Very nice and sharp, looking forward to more and hope you can recoup soon!
