    THIS WAS TOOK ON THE RIVER CALDER IN LANCASHIRE UK,I HAD BEEN TAKING SHOTS OF THE BIRD SAT ON THE ROCK,WHEN SUDDENLY IT TOOK OFF,AND I GOT THIS.CANNON 40D,400MM PRIME LENS,1/4000 SEC,F5.6,ISO800,HAND HELD.THANKS.

    You couldn't ask for a nicer position of the near wing. I wish there was separation between the far wing and the head. A little more canvas up top would be nice. And I'd probably clean up the white stuff on the rock.

    I like the soft light and eye contact. It would be even better with the far wing higher up and I might sharpen the bird a bit more.

    P.S. It's a bit hard to read all caps and in "Internet language" it's considered yelling. ;)

    The exposure looks spot on and there is nice detail in the bird. I agree with adding a bit of canvas to the top. If it were mine I also might try taking a little off the behind the bird or add a little in front as it feels a little centered to me (personal preference).

    Like the different angle you've achieved here and the added environment. Can't disagree with cleaning up the rocks a bit. The BG appears a bit noisy. Nice exposure and like the sharp head.
