    This Hippo was having a sleep and got up as we approached, that is probably why he looks a little silly!

    I like the expression and the color gradient due to the skin color and sky reflection. I might try to tone down the mud/clay beneath him and it seems it needs a touch more sharpening for web.

    Ken,
    I liked the expression. You were at a lower level and hence you got this. Was it from a vehicle or boat?

    Thanks for the comments, my sharpening is always hit or miss. I had not noticed the ssoil below I will look into doing someting with that.
    It was taken from a vehicle I can only presume that the Hippo was on slightly elevated ground, a blessing when you can get it.

    I don't think he looks silly either. To me he looks as if he is not happy you woke him. I agree about the bright mud. Great image in any case. One thing for sure is I wouldn't want to mes with him!!
