Last week I pulled into a restaurant parking lot, got out and spotted this family strolling calmly among parked cars towards a very heavily-traveled street. Some good Samaritans stopped traffic while Mrs. Duck and ducklings crossed to the other side and into a shopping mall parking lot where they kept going, ending up trapped in a fence-corner behind the stores. Animal Rescue was called and all ended well. I got quite a few chances, but this is my best. Some exposures show cars whizzing by; unfortunately, however, none of those are very good. This image is minimally cropped, sharpened and adjusted. I wish the first duckling were back a bit so it did not overlap the mother in the picture. By the way, the curved white lines at the top of the image are a consequence of the pavement rising where it met the sidewalk. I welcome some C&C. . . .

Hi Wendell - glad to hear it had a happy ending - not much else you could do considering the what you had to work with. Lower angle maybe - but looks like it was pretty harsh light.
    keep them coming.

    Hi Wendell,
I like the capture...you were dealing with harsh lighting, you managed to get all of your ducks in a row...:D I would have liked to have seen a lower capture angle...looking forward to your next one...

Wendell, I like the image and nice story behind it. Glad it had a happy ending. The main thing that bothers me is the white lines curving up at the top, but don't see any way you could get rid of them short of cloning.
