From Sibley: These relatively large and long-billed species prefer rocky habitats. Canyon is found on or near cliffs or steep, rocky slopes: The description about steep, rocky slopes is only too true. Large formations of granitic talus is where one has to go if your are to get images of these. They live in the deep crevicies of the large boulders. This is a place where a tri-pod will be more a hinderence than a help: a mono-pod and bean bag are the best bets.
