    Default Merritt Island Spoonie

Hello to all. I was out this am with some friends from the Orlando Camera Club and ended up at Merritt Island, which I thought might be a bust, BUT, to my surprise there was quite a bit of activity. Besides the spoonies, there were willets, skimmers and various other waders. Which made us quite happy!:D All the spoonies were quite pink, almost glowing. This one taken with the D300, Nikon 500 f4 with 1.4TC, f8, iso 800, 1/3200 All comments welcomed:)

It is very dificult to photograph these birds here in Argentina, soy every image I see of them I enjoy it a lot, the light is very nice, the active pose and the head abgle are great, exposure loks very well managed and detail is great. Congratulations Nancy!

Great eye contact, and love the colourful plumage on the spoonbill.

I like the feeding pose and it looks like the spoonbill is looking right at you! I wish for a lower perspective. Looks like it could use a slight CW rotation. Glad it was productive for you!

I like the pose, details and exposure control. I agree with Daniel regarding CW rotation.

You nailed the exposure, and managed to capture the glow quite nicely. Like the eye contact and sharpness.
