    Common Tern taken few days ago. Here are the settings -

    40D Canon 98-280mm @ 280mm
    1/4000 sec, f/5.6 Mode: Av Metering: Evaluative Exp comp: +1/3 ISO: 800

    Did not realize I was using a higher ISO till later! Applied selective NR, S/H, selective sharpening. Added a bit of canvas at the bottom for this crop. Any feedback would be appreciated.

    I like the elegent pose and subtleties of grey tone you've captured on the upperparts. The black of the head appears oddly speckled to me.

    I like the pose and eye contact. The black plumage could go a bit darker for my taste.

    Thanks for the feedback. I agree on the black plumage needs to be darker. Here is another version...

    Terrific pose, light and comp, love the backside view and the head anlge, exposaure is nice and colors are nice as well. Congratulatons!

    Great angle of flight, and you have brought out the eye nicely against the dark plumage.
