Hello partners!
I've been testing lots of things (read discovering!) and finally started to take pictures on manual mode!
I must be honest and say that I was not feeling very confident since I was in charge of all the process, but at the end I guess I am liking it better than shooting AV mode which has been for a long time my preference.
The other day I was reading what other partner was saying about ''we bird photographers are crazy'' and he is so right!
Yesterday I woke up at 3:00am, and believe me, that's very early here! then I drove for two hours until I got to a reserve where there's a report of 400 species of birds, well, the road was muddy as can be (good thing I was driving my old Nissan who takes me everywhere and is a real 4x4!) any ways, I got to this reserve around 6:00 and started to watch some birds, lots of noise but no birds. Finally I saw some eye candy for any bird lover! two song wrens, one ocellated antbird and a bunch of bicolored antbirds who where following an-army ant swarm. No, no luck at all since it was so early and the forest floor was very dark. May be next time.
Ok, but in the very late afternoon I got a picture of this tiny fellow (Green Thorntail male) who really saved my day since there where not too many opportunities for bird photography.
Self critique:
1-The head is away from me, this is the only picture showing some eye after the burst!
2-I'm not too sure about the post processing.:(
