Hi Ruben and a big warm welcome to the BPN family! This is a great site and you will learn a great deal from the many experts.
I am enjoying your first image very much. For me, I like the directness of the bird's look, but would like to see some catchlight in the eye that is visible. I like the BG a lot.
Look forward to seeing many more images!
    Best,
    Nicki

Thx a lot Nicki for the welcoming and the comment. I'm always looking to improve, and I'm sure that I will do that around here.

    Thx again.

Hola Rubén and big wellcome to BPN, I hope to see more of your work here. I like the nice mood of this image with that fantastic green background and soft light. Fantastic stare of the gull and sharpness. Composition works for me but I am also sure that a different framing, with more room at the left would also work finely. Keep them coming

Nice composition, colors and background. IMO you could increase a little bit the contrast, maybe another round of USM on the bird, and blur/burn the highlight between the legs.

I agree with everyone's comments, but also to me the bird's feathering should look crisper, and the white on the bird's left shoulder looks like a blown highlight. As a point of avian semantics, I believe that it isn't a Herring Gull (Larus argentatus) but a Yellow-legged Gull (Larus michahellis) - a different species, with various subspecies of its own, that as an adult has a darker gray back and yellow legs, and in November has only a touch of dark streaking on the head - all well illustrated in your image.

    Best wishes,

    Richard

You're totally right Richard, I have confirmed and it's a Larus Michahellis. Thx a lot for the tip!

And thank you all for the comments.
