Shot with Canon EOS-1 and 300mm f/2.8L on Fuji film. Other data not recorded.
I used “stained glass”, sharpened, sharpened edges, contrast and minor color adjustment. I also added inside grey border to soften the edge of image. Stained glass effect left jagged edge on grey border.
Lost the few stars that stayed visible in the transformation to the image shown. But felt the image still conveyed the theme ... if not totally ... with the visit from the star ship Hale-Bopp. Once in a lifetime view. It was awesome...
I'll post the original later on the appropriate site.
Mark, It takes on a real abstarct look. I like the black BG w/ the grey border-it really shows the texture. Looks like a painting-Hope you post the original, I'm anxious to see it. You can always attach it to this post if you like.
Mark, I like both versions! The original is quite nice and I also like the isolation and effects applied to the image. I do remember seeing this comet and your images bring back those memories...
Thank you, it brought back many memories for me as well! ;) It was a dark night in the country and the sight was really "FAR OUT!" As we use to say.
I don't do much night photography, yet! ;) But I may after the images come in from the other participants.
It's been fun participating and I hope others will give it a try. I have been doing some artistic renderings over the last year, just for the fun of it, but this gives a purpose to trying it and seeing what "develops".
