Now that is a good way to get the head out of the grass, I have never seen a Rhino on a termite mound, albeit a small one. An interesting behavioural shot, from what must have been a considerable distance, and presumably a long way from the road.
Apart from the obvious difficulties with the back light, I think this is a good image. Perhaps the HAP will not approve, and of course the eye is not highly visible, but then again it is very rarely is.

Kinda humorous to see this. I just returned form Kenya, and we saw a lot of White Rhino at Lake Nukuru. Most of the day they were laying down asleep, sometimes on their sides. So maybe this is the exercise for the day. I like the nice warm light and of course the pose.

    Eric,
I Like this light. Seems to be interesting behaviour. I would have liked some space at the bottom. Is this a big crop? Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,

A fine image here for sure.. Great light and the diagonal position of the rhino is excellent...

What a nice shot! These rhino's are incredible difficult to photograph in a unique and interesting manner - you've done excellently well here!
