These birds finally came back to our area for spring. I always enjoy seeing them with their many different poses.

Well done on capturing him in the open, as they always seem to be in a busy BG. You have exposed the colours nicely, and love the raised foot. I would maybe do some selective sharpening over him.

    Hi Filomena,
I would agree with Stuart's comments - perhaps you could just sharpen the eye a little more. Agree that they are very elusive...well done on this capture!
    Best,

    Fil:
I agree with Stuart and Nicki re: sharpening. My guess would be your focus point was on the near wing, as it and the tip of the bill seem to be sharper than the eye (wing and bill tip probably in the same plane of focus)

One thing I do that I find educational is to run my software with the focus point enabled so I can see where I actually was focused. Its easy to get excited and slip off the eye!

So, I would def. hit the eye some more re: sharpening.

The crop is a little tight, more room on the bottom for the virtual feet if you have it.

If flash was used, be sure to included the particulars re: exposure compensation, etc., it helps us evaluate the image.

This is a lovely bird, keep them coming!

    Randy
