i have no clue how many things i did to this one. it would be a LOOOONG list!! i know it started with some topaz simplify. after that, it's a guess.

    thanks for looking. comments appreciated.

it is really cool to use these filters for this type stuff. there was not enough dof to render both otters sharp. the one on the right was soft, but the treatment was able to mask it to a certain extent!!

Harold this is a very nice image, with both otters looking at camera and the PP you did to it..what makes this special to me at least, is "I know" how tough it is to get otters out in the open like this.

One otters looks like its smiling for the camera....

thanks, guys. there's a story that goes with this one. the day this was taken was the day i got my bigma and SB-600 flash. i didnt even take it out of the box. i got home, picked it up off the front door step, put it in the truck and went out to loxahatchee. when i pulled in the main gate, these two guys were playing in the canal that runs along the road. first time i ever saw them. i went to the main parking lot (flew!) threw everything together as fast as i could and ran down the road to the canal. about three hundred yards. as i'm running, i snapped a couple of pictures of the sky just to make sure it worked. anyone that knows me knows i'm a pretty big guy. imagine a big guy running down the road, looking through the viewfinder at the sky. when i got to the canal, luckily they were still there and i was able to get about a dozen shots before they left. it was a good day!!

sorry for rambling. denise, i do remember using poster edges. can you believe i also sharpened the otters and ran noise reduction on the bg!!?

Neat picture, they look so cute. Do you have any canvas on the right. The one guy looks pretty close to the edge or maybe this is FF. At any rate made me smile (and two good HA's)!!!!! :)

thanks, jackie. i wished i did have some more to the right. it is almost full frame. i chopped a little off the left to make it look deliberate with the tail and a little off the top for compo. i agree, it is a little cramped.

From Harold's story, it was probably because they saw him coming across the road! :D

That is an interesting canal. We saw a few nice images there on our past trips.

    Congratulations on a good one.

Sometimes more is better, as in the steps you used to get this one.

Love this one Harold. The otters look like they are carved from the same wood they are standing on! Great story and what a cool capture!
