    Taken a few weeks ago I was happy to catch one of the last to leave duck species here at the wetlands.

    Nice exposure, detail and pose. I found a little strange the line between the vegetation and the water, straight line behind the bird and very irregular in front of it, may be blurring the line behind the bird...
    In any case like the image.

    Nice exposure and colours - good wing positions too. Although the bird is high in the frame I like the comp. I agree with Raul re:line behind the bird. The face seems angled ever so slightly away despite the body angle being good.

    Nice job, Jim. I like the warm tones of the bill, eye and legs. That's a fair amount of magnification with the 600+1.4x on a 1.5x crop body - do you use a tripod?
