    These were at the Wallkill River NWR. Canon 1d mark III, 500 f4, 1.4x II extender, iso 400, F10, 1/200 from a tripod with 580EX attached to body, flash set at manual, high speed sync, 50mm,+2. The shot was at minimum focus of 14 feet and slight crop from full frame vertically.

    Lovely capture, and good crop here. It's both a nice image of the 'flies, and a nice graphic with the stiff but angled branch and the curving details of your subjects. Nice job!

    Sharpness is great as well as colors and compo.

    Very nice, Herb. Only suggestion would be to try to clone out or tone down the evidence of flash near their eyes. Colors and comp are wonderful!
