    Default Young Female Andean Condor

Hi all, this was one of my dream shots that I had in mind when I went out in the search for the Andean Condors, as I said before, the light didn't helped, actually, the Lazy Condors didn't helped as the started flying very late once they got warmed enought, and the sun was preety hight by then, still, I managed to get some images that I like, this landing pose specially was my goal, I am already planning another visit to get it with the light I want :) but still, for me it was a magical experience just to be able to watch them fly :) Hope you like it. Enjoy!

    Belleza!

Excellent presentation of this unique bird Ramon!

It's very nice to see those details under-wing.

    Really nice job.

I like the incoming pose, exposure control and details. There is a slight magenta cast on my monitor.

I've enjoyed your entire series, Ramon. Maybe the light wasn't all you had hoped for but you still captured the power and beauty of these birds. In this image, I really like the pose, right down to the wing tips.

Great pose and composition ... having both eyes visible is a plus.
    Congrats on realizing your vision!
    Looking forward to seeing more.

Agree there's a color cast as the sky does not look like a natural shade of blue.
Some fill flash may have helped to open up the underside.

I understand how you feel Ramon, it is exactky the same way with the Cape Vultures at Giant's Castle:-) You did well to retain shadow detail in these very difficult circumstances!

I tried to correct the magenta cast you told me about, does this looks any better? Thanks!

Thanks for the info, I will never expect that your biggest problem was lazy subjects.

Yeap Raúl, sadly the start flying arround 10PM and they get to the place I was waiting, more than 3000 meters of altitude at arround 12 or 13 hrs so... right now I am planning to go back in a few months but with a different strategy, the idea now is to build 6 blinds in a place were sun is great in the morning and in the afternoon too and where I can place a dead goat or cow as bait, 2 hides for full body portraits, 2 for landings and take offs, and another 2 for close ups, two of each as I want to be able to work with good morning light as well as the nice sunset light. I'll keep you all posted about this project :)

Brilliant headon shot of this wonderful bird Ramon. Their wingspreads are enormous, and hopefully you have lots more to share with us. Congrats on another great image.
