    Default Reed Bunting

I was able to make some images of a singing male Reed Bunting.
I made some vertical images with the bird tight in the frame but I also made some horizontal pictures with the whole fresh green perch on the picture.
What do you think? Does this work? I can show you one of the vertical images tomorrow, if you want.

    Any comments very welcome

very nice shot Rosl. I'm not familiar with this species - will his black bib eventually become solid black, or is this full breeding plumage? Very nice details and BG. I like the composition, but do wish he was just a little closer to the edge of the branch (IMO).

I like the unconventional composition Rosl. Great singing pose, nice exposure, and good sharpness. I might make the light areas on the left side of the image a little more green, as my eye is drawn to those spots.

Works like a champ. I like this composition. Can't envision a vertical crop working better. I agree with Doug about possibly greening down the lighter areas in the background. I would definitely mask off the bird and brighten it a bit.

EDIT: How about darkening and reducing saturation on the background?

I like the singing pose, details, composition and perch. It would be even better if the BG in the upper left were a bit more even.

    Hello Rosl!

First of all thanks for sharing this wonderful species.

I like this image for a very simple reason, that is that you chose a wonderful compo IMO.

Those greens are very nice and the singing fellow is a bonus.

I haven't seen your other version yet,(the one vertical) but I guess this is my favorite.

    Very nice work.

Cool bird, great pose, and well captured!

Pose begs for a vertical but that wonderful perch begs for a horizontal.
    Great thinking to capture both!
Looking forward to seeing a vertical but I suspect I will prefer the horizontal.

Might try toning down the brighter BG areas with a Curves adjustment.

I like the composition and the bird's pose. Good timing to catch it signing. Light background has been mentioned. Thanks for sharing.

Great composition and gorgeous perch. I prefer the original version although agree that the whitish portion of the background can be cloned out a bit.
