Im never sure how to approach these guys. ( I was in a vehicle ) I understand one must turn the engine off, and just sit quietly and observe them. Most times, they are very passive, but one always thinks that if they decide to bump you, firstly he will damage your car quiet badly, secondly he wont even feel it, and thirdly, in all the exitement, you have to start the car and get out as fast as possible. BTW, as per my exif, I was pretty close.

Stuart,
Can I reccomend Khama Rhino Sanctuary in Botswana as a good place to get images of relatively placid Rhino. You have what I would call the everyday problem with Rhino, when are they going to stop eating and raise their head.
Stuart,
Good one. I would love to click this at 200mm rather than 400mm distance wise as the perspective is different. Any one willing to try clicking these giants at the 100mm end? Ok. If that sounds easy enough, how about 100mm in a full frame camera? :D
